Bench Press

Today I had a 1:1 with a trainer at CF Eastside. Some major strides have been made apparently!

First, we worked on my back squat (which we do pretty often). Today I did 104 kg, 5x3. It felt good! I wonder what my max rep is — I’m aiming for a 300 lb back squat. That’s only another 32 kilos, roughly, and considering that 104 kg 5x3 wasn’t hard, it makes me think I’ve got to be pretty close to that goal.

Second, we worked on Bench Press. This is where I’ve made a significant stride. The last time I did 5x3 Bench Press, I was at 52 kilos, and it was kind of tough. This was a while ago — at least a month, probably 2 months. Anyway, today I did 5x3 60kgs, and it was pretty easy! My goal here is to get a 1 rep max of my bodyweight. I’m pretty sure I can do this now — just have to try it out.

And then for the last 10 minutes I did knee-sits — like an L-sit but with knees in rather than extended out. Next time I might end up doing L-sits. Who knows.
